Does anyone know how to test a pool pump not installed?
We bought this pump used but want to test before installing on pool. we took the guys word it worked but now we just want to make sure. It is an above ground pool pump.

prime the pump with water and switch it on if you can connect a hose/pipe to a fresh water supply all the better.
Just dont run it dry and they depend on the water to keep cool
Put the intake pipe into a suitable container of water, temp wire the power, making sure the pump body is properly grounded. When you power it on, it’ll prime itself, then it should work just as if it were installed.
