Great job! Even with just a few helpers at times you accomplished more than 95% of the job on your own labor, operation, and all. I wish my husband could do something like this. *both thumbs up*

is it realy possible for an amatuer such as myself to learn how to do somethin like this and not have to pay 30,000 plus on a pro? which would you recomend having a friend help me out or pro installers

    you just left the wrinkles?
you can avoid wrinkles 100% by taping off all openings and inserting a vac into the skimmer.

I did… works a lot better in theory..

  7. DustTHyo says:

How Much did the entire Job cost you?

  10. ifly4fun2 says:

About $10,000, Maybe a little less. THe kits have gone down in price since I built mine. A co-worker put one in identical to mine with all the same options (salt, polaris, diving board, etc..) and paid $30,000.

What did you use for substrate under liner? Mortar/Sand mix, how deep? Can I email you with some questions?

  12. ifly4fun2 says:

Mortar/Sand/Vermiculite, Sure you can email me.

  13. lrich65184 says:

It will certainly burn the shit out you.. nowadays we just shoo the bottoms with Crete and then foam over top to protect the liner. much easier.

    next step, water slide

  15. ifly4fun2 says:

lol.. I looked at getting one.. cheapest ones start at over $1000.. and go up to $4000.. almost as much as the pool

Wow, you guys need a better excavator. That was alot of hand digging you did. Most pool holes I dig only take a 1/2 day with little to no hand work. Also, using a groute mix off a truck would be way faster and cost less.

I hope this guy walked in after he was done , looked his wife in the eye and said “Fuck you for telling me I couldn’t do that. ” I would have

  19. FashionGirl1231 says:

how long did it take to build the pool?

  20. ifly4fun2 says:

About 2 weeks from breaking ground to filling with water… another couple of days to do the apron after it settled in.

  21. jroc889 says:

why didnt you cement the footings good luck when your pool falls in

  22. ifly4fun2 says:

thanks smartass… theres 18″ of concrete behind the panels.. 6″ more than required for the collar. 5yds. Believe it or not it was done by the book.. permits.. inspections.. whole 9 yrds.

  23. truraza says:

The water wants to flow outwards from the pool. Hence the bracing to keep it from blowing OUT and NOT IN. The sidewalls don’t weigh enough to counter the force of the water and fall in….

  24. newzRus says:

It Looks like there was alot of wrinkles in the liner that u didnt smooth before filling? Or is that just me

  25. swanginsix8 says:
