I have a question about replacing my inground pool liner?
I got a bid on replacing my pool liner. I asked the guy about if I could buy my liner online instead of from him. He said that it would be better if I bought if off him b/c they come out and take specific measurements of the pool and custom cut your liner so it fits better and it wont wrinkle. Now I have no experience with inground pools so I was wodnering is that true? What;s the difference between them cutting one of their own liners to my pool specifications and cutting one that I bought online to my pools specifications? I can save like 1000 by buying the liner online. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.
Buying a liner online is like buying a pre-tailored suit from someone you have never met. It won’t work. No matter what you think your pool size may be, they are only that way on paper, and a minor difference of a half inch off square in one corner will throw off the size dramatically over a fifteen foot stretch. Your perceived discount is just that, a perception. You will end up paying as much, if not more.
As a professional, I refuse to install equipment on pools unless the product is bought from me. I don’t want to take posession of another companies problems or mistakes.
Cowboy up and get the professional to do it right the first time.
Just had a new liner installed last June. Went with the installer. Liner comes with a guarantee, any problems I can contact the installer. Not try to deal with an unknown over the Internet. There is just to much to go wrong.
