Firstly, your FILTER is a sand filter. The pump is a different piece of equipment. Sand filters use a sifted sand called 20/40 frac. Get it at any pool store. It is screened so all the sand particles are the same size. Filters are engineered and built to use this type of sand. Do NOT use play sand, as some people will tell you. Read the label on the filter. It will tell how many pounds of sand are required. Don’t underfill, or overfill.
a very fine white powder called DIATOMITE somtimes referred to as pool powder, or pool dirt (very common) can be found in many places, ie…hardware stores, some home depot’s, depending on area… ect……just ask for
